Anne Elliot – Persuasion (2005)

Yes, Persuasion is the answer again, even though it is a book.

If we were allowed to have fictional characters as role models, Anne Elliot would be mine, definitely. In fact she kind of already is anyway! Ever since I was in high school I have aspired to be like Anne. I have tried to emulate her character ever since I was 16, and I think it’s kinds of shaped my personality a little bit as I’ve grown older! I have tried to be patient like her in difficult circumstances, brave like her in terrifying circumstances (although I still don’t have her stamina during medical emergencies!), and a person who loves unconditionally. I think that I want to be like her so much because so many of her qualities are the same as those encouraged in the bible. She has some very apparent fruit of the Spirit in her life… although she is fictional… need to keep remembering that she has never actually been alive…

Anyway, in the 1995 version of this film, Amanda Root plays a very charming and likeable Anne, so I like this film version better. Sally Hawkins’ version of Anne sometimes made me want to eat my own face in frustration, with the way she kept staring into the camera and crying and moping. So yes, the character I relate to the most is definiately Amanda Root’s portrayal of Anne Elliot.

You may have noticed I missed a question! That is because I have never ever watched an Academy Awards speech in my life. Sorry!
